Ard-Pieter de Man is an independent board room consultant and Professor of Management Studies at the School of Business and Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. As a consultant, he advises organizations about strategy in a dynamic environment, new organizational forms and partnering, alliances and ecosystems. He also acts as a meta-consultant, giving advice and training to consultancies about their strategy, business models and thought-leadership. His current research and consulting focuses on the organizational consequences of digital transformation.

He previously held positions at KPMG and Atos and was Dean of Sioo, the leading Dutch center for change management and consulting. He did his PhD about new organizational forms at the Rotterdam School of Management and held positions at the University of Maastricht and the Eindhoven University of Technology.

He is an award-winning author of over a dozen books and more than 100 articles. He published among others in Sloan Management Review, Long Range Planning, Technovation, Research Policy and the Journal of Cleaner Production. His books include the widely used Alliances: An executive guide to designing successful strategic partnerships and his most recent book is How to survive the organizational revolution: A guide to contemporary agile operating models, platforms and ecosystems.
