Monika Wiederhold is Executive Vice President Marketing & Digital Transformation at Amadeus IT Group.
Monika and her team focus on translating Travel unit’s strategy into customer trust and desire to buy as well as on driving the end-to-end transformation of the commercial and operational systems including the customer portal.
Monika joined Amadeus in 2017 initially as Managing Director of Amadeus Germany responsible for the DACH markets. Her strong customer focus and passion for marketing has driven her in all her commercial roles for different customer profiles, serving as Regional Commercial Head both for Travel Retail Agencies and Airline IT. Recently, as Head of Global Ecosystem Initiatives, Monika has been collaborating across Amadeus and external ecosystems to foster a customer and solution centric approach for topics like safe travel, sustainability, data or multimodality.

With more than twenty years in the airline and logistics industry at the Lufthansa Group, Monika Wiederhold has gained extensive leadership experience in top management positions for Corporate Strategy, Product Management, Innovation, Crew Scheduling, Marketing & Sales. After professional positions in the USA and Uruguay, the graduate mathematician with an additional degree in Master of Business Administration started her career in aviation as a simulation expert for flight planning and reservation systems.
A creative mathematician and executive, she is an active member of international networks, particularly in the areas of digital innovation and platform economics. She is also a member of supervisory boards in the travel industry, as well as an advisor for political and academic institutions. Monika Wiederhold advocates for the benefits of digital transformation, platform economics and ecosystem collaboration across business, politics and education and has produced several publications.

Monika brings a strong transversal approach driving collaboration with teams all over the world. With a passion for disruption, artificial intelligence and digital business models, Monika likes to dive into new worlds. She values multicultural environments and promotes collaborative approaches in – and outside of Amadeus to shape the digital future of travel.
