Xavier Palomer Ripoll is a Spanish entrepreneur and engineer renowned for pioneering the use of virtual reality in mental health treatment. He co-founded Psious in 2013, a Barcelona-based startup that developed VR tools for therapists to treat conditions such as anxiety, phobias, and depression. The company later evolved into Amelia Virtual Care, expanding its global reach and delivering over 200,000 VR therapy sessions worldwide.
Born in Barcelona in 1982, Palomer holds degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Barcelona. He furthered his studies with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, specializing in bioengineering, at the University of Colorado Boulder. His early research focused on electrophysiology and wearable antenna design.
