The 3 Layers of Ecosystem Thinking

"In the digital era, the term ‘business ecosystem’ is more than a buzzword; it’s a pivotal concept for companies navigating the complexities of the modern economy. The interest in business ecosystems has surged, reaching a peak in early 2022, signaling a collective realization of their significance. This article delves into the three levels of ecosystem thinking, essential for companies looking to thrive through digital transformation.

In today’s fast-paced digital economy, the concept of a ‘business ecosystem’ is not merely a theoretical construct, but a practical reality that drives competitive advantage and innovation. A business ecosystem refers to a network of interconnected entities – companies, individuals, and technologies – that co-evolve and co-create value within a shared market or domain. This interdependency is a hallmark of modern business strategies, where collaboration, competition, and innovation intertwine. In a world where change is the only constant, understanding and leveraging these ecosystems is not just beneficial; it’s imperative."

Green Fridays with Marta Agrech

Mart Agrech continues Green Friday's initiative launched last year:

"I will provide you with themes per month around the circular platform ecosystem

Circularity is not only about new up-and-coming startups but is key for incumbent companies to get a grip on this business opportunity. Therefore, this month, we will start with enablers. We will shed light on platforms that support existing companies in transitioning into circularity.

I present you... FAUME, a platform that recently signed a contract with ba&sh (€115 million generated in 2023) to help them solve reverse logistics issues within one of the most complex industries - fashion. FAUME will be supporting ba&sh in reconditioning and rental services."

"GenZ consumers will dominate demand for tech products in 2024, as they’re already a quarter of the tech world’s consumer population.

That’s one of the trends observed by Jessica Boothe, director of research for the Consumer Technology Association, the trade group that puts on CES 2024, and Brian Comiskey, director of thematic programs at the CTA, at the opening session of the big tech trade show in Las Vegas."

“CES is where the spark of innovation comes to life,” Comiskey said.

Supercharging the Climate Solution Potential of Circular Startups

Supercharging the climate potential of circular startups can have far-reaching and long-lasting positive economic and environmental impact. Each systemic intervention helps to stimulate demand signals, create self-reinforcing loops of positive action, and trigger the system-wide tipping points needed to transition the entire global economy – from startups to super-corporations in every sector – from linear to circular.
